Knee & ACL Physical Therapy

Our knee rehabilitation program is based on the latest scientific research and is constantly being updated. Basic principles of our program include:

  • early motion (immediately post-op)
  • early weight bearing (within 3 days post-op)
  • emphasize endurance over strength
  • In regards to strength, emphasize eccentric loading over concentric
  • rehabilitate around the injury
  • emphasize proprioception (balance) exercises early in the program

The patient is progressed based on criteria (meeting certain goals) versus strictly time (week one add this, week two add more). We expect the patient to actively participate in the entire rehab process from goal setting to exercise selection.
